What he doesn't know is how desperate this woman is and how she is trying to get out fat women of the loveless marriage to Pinkie, but fat women is instead a prisoner in her own home. Burke plans a daring plot that has him inside Pinkie's mansion for a Mardi Gras masquerade party on Fat Tuesday, but didn't consider his love-at-first-sight feelings for Remy. FAT TUESDAY is a highly charged story in which Sandra Brown proves that she can cross the line of romance writer into the genre of mystery. This is one of my favorite books by her, and I consider it a "stop light book" (one that you have on the seat when you're driving, and while at a stop light, you read a paragraph or two - you definitely can't put this book down).

- I never felt that Remi really became independent. In the epilogue Brown seems to try to make it seem like she's a new, confident woman, but I don't know if I buy records that. - The thriller/mystery part of the book started sputtering out close to the end. There was a very records long build-up and the ending did not really live records up to that. - Last, I agree with what some of the previous reviewers said. The romance was flimsy at best - it seemed just based on a superficial attraction. It was a bit hard to swallow that it was love. So, overall, interesting though some parts were predictable; flimsy romance but still definitely readable (/worth listening to).
