I never got into bands like the Dream Academy, the Thompson Twins, Howard Jones, the Pet Shop Boys, with their disconsolate ambient sophistication and snowwhite tans. I didnt get why they dressed that fucker way, or what they were doing fucker to those keyboards, or what it was they were always staring at in their videos. Now its all been mercifully lost to time. And now that I brood moodier than a sophmore goth at Einstein High, that boat has sailed and I've missed the opportunity for something woeful and golden.But I did love Ferris Bueller in High School and felt fucker very special when Cameron stares deeply into that Seurat painting in the chicago museum and it zooms in on that little crying girl in a most poignant fashion. The instrumental version of Dream Academy's "Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want" is playing during that scene.
