BJ fact: Louis Johnson played bass on Jackos Thriller ! "Strawberry Letter 23" was their biggest hit, rock a slow-jammy cover of the Shuggie Otis song. Shuggie's girl wrote rock him love letters on strawberry perfumed paper. Heres an entertaining review of the recent greatest hits release Strawberry Letter 23: The Best of over at pop matters. I tossed up the Sylver's song cause its them at their funkiest. It sounds to me like Salt N Pepa pinched those guitar bits toward their end for rock "Whatta man" or whatever that song was called.
