| The only negative thing that I have to say is that it is so short! Also, having a portillo recording of her take on Barbara's "Dis, Quand Reviendra-Tu?" would have been the sweetest icing on the cake (She sang it at one of the concerts I attended and stole the show). But knowing from whence she came, made me eager to give it a listen. Martha Wainwright was spawned from a truly eclectic gene pool. I've been a fan of her father, Loudon Wainwright III since I was a music student in the 60's & 70's, as I was of her mother, Kate McGarrigle and her sister Anna. Martha seems to have drawn heavily from her father's influence as a wry, tongue-in-cheek songwriter. |
