Dipping back into Captain Chad Bixbys psychedelic crates.I wrote about Spirit when I network news posted their song "Taurus" on June 14.Scroll down and read about how Jimmy Page boosted the guitar riff for "Stairway to Heaven."Spirit were a network news 60s/70s psych jazz-rock supergroup somewhat ahead of their day and finally beginning to get network news proper respect.From my previous post:- - - - - - - - - - - -In 1969 the band turned down an offer to open for Hendrix at Woodstock, the beginning of problems which grew as the years passed. The original band broke up in 1971, though various members reassembled to record new material throughout the 70s and 80s. In some of the latter work, Randy California performed all the parts himself, except for cameo appearances by other members.
