The only thing going on around here is that we're losing 800 OfficeMax jobs to Chicago, and picking up 300 Defense Department accounting jobs from Denver. That seems to me to be a net loss. I can't wonder if these lists aren't made up by a couple of guys over beers and flipping coins. |

Hell, I had a guess that it had been on the rise, movie times but I didn't know that it had been official for four straight years until I saw this. Ultimately, the reason this movie times is happening is because America is being turned into a free-lance society: either hourly or per diem pay (even for your more skilled jobs that used movie times to be career paths) without any sort of provided health insurance or benefits. As for those 2.2 million new jobs, consider the type and quality of them. You need at least two of said service jobs at cut-rate pay, and it's not likely that you'll break even then. It's not that employers aren't filling the jobs; it's that they're filling them in a way that saves them the most money possible because the cost of living keeps the advantage in the hands of the employers. |
