They intended to hurt her feelings ... and more. As I recall, Judge Guido Calabresi fiction mystery/ detective (2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals) once said about a comparable incident – when he was Dean of the Yale University Law School — “It was tasteless, even disgusting, but that’s beside the point. Free expression is more important than civility in a university.” I won’t argue with that. |
