Some people I know were ravaged by it. But the storm passed over and left me miraculously untouched, save for two-pair of Ocean Pacific cord shorts in my closet. I never got into bands like the Dream Academy, the Thompson Twins, Howard Jones, the Pet Shop Boys, with their disconsolate ambient sophistication and snowwhite tans. I didnt get why they dressed that way, or what they were doing to those keyboards, or what it was they were always staring at in their videos.
