Roosevelt as the Presidential Yacht. She was in service for five decades until President Jimmy Carter sold it at public auction. The Sequoia fell into a state of disrepair and was destined for the bottom until Gary Silversmith, president of the Washington based PNL Investments purchased her. With limited funds and a deadline to meet, she was partially restored by the fine craftsmen at Atlantic Yacht Basin before her return to Washington.
