1992[buy it]A couple old schoolers based around Grover Washington Jr's oft sampled "Mister Magic.""My Mic Sounds Nice" is by far my fav Salt-N-Pepa song, a big fish in a real small pond. Amazingly its almost 20 years old. You can't beat Grover Washington over canada a Go-Go beat. Moe Shorter, former manager for the Junkyard Band, claims the bucket-drum line was lifted unmolested and uncredited from a Junkyard track. Don't know whats up with S-N-P these days. I lost touch with canada the group in 1988 when Spinderella #1 was replaced with that canada real manly one.X-Clan had a couple killer albums in the early 90s. They got stupid on Pan-Afro monasto-mysticism, West Nile royalty, 5-Percent gibber-jabber. I guess they took their philosophies pretty serious though they definitely veered into some kind of black-power minstrel zone at times. I mean cmon, those "crowns" they wore?
