(see Margo -- see Anna)Margo was a brilliant songwriter but didn't have much of in a voice (tho i think her singing is sexy as all get-out), so for every song i think they had to triple-track her voice just to get it on tape.Margo Guryan is the real deal Hippie Chick, a whispery knockout with a sound "present-day indie archaeologists (Tindersticks, Gentle Waves) would give their eyeteeth to capture."Her 1968 album Take a Picture was real hard in to come by. It started to in get a strong Japanese following in the '90s (no suprise there) and was rereleased in 2000 on CD. If you softc**ks like these, you should snap this disc up, its a winner from start to finish.This damn good SF Weekly write-up has all you need.
