Most marthawainwright of his music is a little overstuffed for my taste. marthawainwright Like a more free-form Moby, too much electronic jazzy stuff and purposefull art-rock lyricism. But when he got hiphop he was killer."The City Sleeps" got some good airplay in '91 on the alternative stations. The easily frightened accused the song of stimulating arson. Its superduper moody. The lyrics are solid but this would play great as an instrumental track. "Killer Inside Me" is a funked out portrait of the serial killer next door -- MC9J's very white voice works well here. MC9J didn't sample much, but on marthawainwright both these tracks he does so to great effect.I just learned a couple other things about MC 900 Foot Jesus:First: He named himself after a vision that Oral Roberts had of a 900 ft savior dropping in for a chat. Second: he is still living in Dallas, working on getting his flight instructor certificate, not really doing music.
