Poor households have more discretionary income than ever tony blair because (despite inflation) stuff is cheaper. The heritage foundation (I'll ignore all arguments which revolving around "they are right wing which means somehow the data they present is wrong") shows that the "poor" actually are quite avid consumers. Its a sad day when people are making the argument that Americans are poor and thus can only afford food that makes them fat.
