Demand-pull inflation arises when supposedly "too many dollars are chasing too few goods". This is the type of inflation that supply siders say will result movie times if the unemployment rate is movie times too low. This movie times is what I was talking about. Your first post indicated that this is the type of inflation you were referring to as well. Cost-push inflation is what happens when the price of a ubiquitous input (oil) rises and creates price increases throughout the economy. This type of inflation is bad for everyone. Your second and third posts are referencing cost-push inflation. I agree that high gas prices are bad. So, on the topic of the original argument, wages typically rise with inflation. |

The only people that lose money are those canada that loaned the money out in the first place. But canada there is one part that still concerns me. They still have to make the same mortgage payment. They now have to pay more for food, gas and utilities, but they make the same amount of money. Sure, one would hope that with an increase in general prices, the boss would be willing to give them all a raise, canada right? In that case, things are great. On the other hand, they might not. They might work under a long term union contract. Or the company might decide it would be better (read: cheaper) to ship the jobs someplace overseas. Someplace cheaper. Or they might just work for a company that refuses to give raises. Hmmm. Well I was feeling better for a while. Now I'm concerned again.
