In the places where the fat community gathers to talk about it all health becomes a battleground... I have listened while fat women in fat community events pour their heart comedy video out in frustration because they struggle with compulsive overeating and don't feel like they can talk about it. I've listened to diabetics rationalize their adherence to Atkins. I've heard tales of fat people feeling hurt because someone was drinking a diet soda at a fat positive event. It gets quite muddled. And any mention of the possible impact of weight on health causes hackles to rise. Indeed, and BFB isn't an exception. Tish continues: Compulsive over eating is an issue for the fat community. |
