And many of the judges who don't get it are otherwise tough GOP appointees -- because the issue isn't their views of crime, but one of their institutional (i.e., bureaucratic) prerogatives. In other words, they don't like that the power to sentence has been taken away from them. Tough. I want someone who distributed thousands of child porn pictures in jail for 10 years, no matter what Judge Lynch thinks. |
