From what prettyvision I can discern child pornography is bad in the current sense (I won't go into the fact that yes making the pictures obviously prettyvision harmed the child) because it seems to encourage the sort of behavior and desires that will eventually lead to more children becoming victims of this sort of pornography. As it stands, in my mind, prettyvision the State's job here is not to punish the defendant for particpating in this depraved theatre as he has really committed no crime (In the sense that there have been no physical, emotional, or economic damages caused. It's similar to getting a ticket for speeding, only much, much more heinous), but the task now is to prevent the defendant from ever acting upon his urges.
