| The ad promotes Amstel Light as a low-carb beer, catering burn fat to the Atkins fad. That's fine, I suppose; it's an ad. The visuals start by showing us the midsections of people burn fat at a party. We see trim, toned stomachs on the women (and short shirts to show them burn fat off,) and topless, sculpted abdomens on the one or two men. Then, the crowd parts to show us... A fat man with a large stomach and a cut-off shirt, showing us his belly button. He's dancing, too, and making his stomach jiggle around. Oh, but that's not all. As recently mentioned in the Gab Cafe, GM is using a print ad with a similar tactic. It's a ad split down the middle, with "Good Decision" and "Bad Decision" highlighting each side. I'm afraid I can't recall the "Good Decision" (undoubtedly related to buying a GM car,) but the bad decision showed a 3/4 rear view of a fat man wearing nothing but underwear. |
